Introductory Matchmaking Portal Notice
ShareMyHorse is an introductory community directory connecting horse owners with prospective riders and carers. We do not arrange horse sharing, loans, or care on members' behalf. Members make their own decisions and agreements; their responsibilities depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
Equine activity risk notice
Riding, handling, and caring for horses involve risks of serious injury or death. Legal duties, defenses, and notice requirements differ by location and circumstances. This general website notice is not a waiver, insurance policy, or substitute for any locally required warning or agreement.
Read our safety guidance, discuss the specific activity with the other person, and check applicable requirements and insurance with qualified local advisers.
1. Our Services
ShareMyHorse ("we", "us", or "our") operates www.sharemyhorse.com. The service helps equestrians find one another to discuss riding, exercising, or caring for horses and ponies.
2. Eligibility & Minimum Age
You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account, post a listing, or message another member. The Services arrange contact between adults who may then meet in person and handle horses, and we do not knowingly allow accounts for anyone under 18.
A parent or legal guardian who is 18 or older may hold the account and take responsibility for a younger rider's participation, including being present for arrangements made through the Services. The account holder remains responsible for everything done under the account.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated listings. You can report a suspected underage account with the report control on any listing or profile.
3. Platform Role & Limitations
We provide contact introductions between riders seeking horses to ride and horse owners whose horses need exercise. We do not lease horses, curate partnerships, or act as an equine broker or agency.
Members set the terms of any riding schedule or care arrangement they make after connecting. ShareMyHorse does not negotiate or administer those private arrangements.
Before riding or handling a horse, discuss the activity, assess the setting and each person's experience, and take sensible safety precautions. An owner considering a new arrangement may also seek veterinary or professional advice where appropriate.
4. Equine Activity Acknowledgment & Inherent Risks
Horses and ponies are large animals with unpredictable behaviors. You acknowledge that equine activities involve significant inherent risks of bodily injury, permanent disability, and death.
4.1 United States law
Some states have equine activity liability statutes that may limit certain claims involving defined inherent risks. Their scope, exceptions, and required warnings differ. Other legal rules may also apply. This page does not claim that an owner, rider, advertiser, or ShareMyHorse has immunity under any particular law.
4.2 Canadian law
Provincial negligence, occupiers' liability, and contract rules differ. No blanket equine-activity immunity applies across Canada. Ask qualified local counsel and your insurer how the law and policy terms apply to the proposed arrangement.
5. Location Privacy
To protect horse owners, animals, and private facilities, ShareMyHorse enforces a progressive disclosure model:
- Public browsing: Only the general region you enter (e.g., "Chester County, PA") is shown. Street addresses, facility names and directions are kept separately from public listings. You can access your own details, and authorized platform administrators may access them for support and safety operations. They are not included in public listing responses. We do not collect GPS coordinates for listings, and there is no map view.
- A rider contacts you: Nothing further is released. Starting a conversation does not reveal anything about where your horse is kept.
- You accept a rider: You choose which details that rider may see — barn or facility name, street address, postal code, directions — one field at a time. Anything you do not release stays hidden, and the choice applies only to that rider.
6. No Pricing Requirements
Listings on the Services are not required to specify monetary rates. Users may arrange non-monetary exchanges (such as barn chores or caretaking in exchange for riding time). ShareMyHorse does not handle or guarantee payments between users.
7. Account Security & Device Authentication ("Remember Me")
Keep your account credentials and devices secure, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
The "Remember my email" option stores your email address locally to prefill it on future visits; it does not store your password. Avoid this option on shared devices and sign out before leaving them.
8. Prohibited Activities
Do not knowingly misrepresent a horse's temperament, health, or training; list a horse without authority; use contact details to trespass; or scrape site data. We may remove content or restrict accounts when we find a violation.
9. Your Content and Copyright (DMCA)
You keep ownership of the photos, videos and text you post. By posting, you give ShareMyHorse (operated by Cuelora LLC) a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, resize and distribute that content on the service for as long as it stays posted, and you confirm you own it or have permission to post it.
If you believe content on ShareMyHorse infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the copyrighted work; (3) identification of the material you say is infringing and where it is on the site; (4) your contact information; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the owner.

Counter-notification. If you believe material you posted was removed by mistake or misidentification, send the designated agent a counter-notification with: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and telephone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Cuelora LLC may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice. We will forward a valid counter-notification to the original sender and may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers. We will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of members who are repeat infringers.
