Our Data Minimization Commitment
We never sell your personal data. We do not display your exact street address, facility name, or telephone number to the public. All sensitive barn locations are held behind our 3-tier progressive privacy gate.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information necessary to deliver our community matching service:
- Account Information: Name, email address, password hash, and optional profile bio.
- Listing Information: Horse breed, age, height, temperament, photos, and approximate regional location.
- Private Location Data: Street address and barn facility names are collected strictly to enable owner-approved directions after mutual handshake acceptance.
- Communications: In-app messages exchanged between users.
2. How We Protect Location Data
Your exact latitude, longitude, street address, and facility name are separated at the database level. Public visitors and unconfirmed users only receive a randomized centroid within your county/region and an approximate 25-mile radius circle.
Exact address details are rendered only to authenticated users who share an accepted handshake with the listing owner, and solely when the owner has granted access.
3. United States Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and related state laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah:
- You have the right to request access to personal data we hold about you.
- You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated listings.
- We do not sell personal data, nor do we share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Canadian Privacy Rights (PIPEDA & Quebec Law 25)
For Canadian residents, personal data is managed in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and provincial counterparts, including Quebec's Law 25.
By using the Services, you consent to the storage and processing of your data on Cloudflare and Neon infrastructure located in the United States, subject to equivalent technological security standards.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings page. Deletion immediately removes your public listings and disassociates your contact information.
